Thanked: 0Thiers-Issard
Just received a like new Thiers-issard straight razor today and the shave was amazing. I've been straight razor shaving for about 3 months now and was using a Berti Bertenburg Solingen. The Solingen was a good starter, but the Thiers-issard is great.
I acquired the thiers-issard with Bocote scales and leather carrying pouch for $ 75 on ebay which Imo was a fantastic deal.
I've been hearing about how good a thiers-issard straight razor is, and must say I am very happy with mine.
So now that I have a good brush, soap and great razor I can hardly wait until I shave again.
I also am waiting for a thiers-issard Le Dandy circa 1920s to arrive. Seems to be lost in the mail thanks to usps.Last edited by Biskits; 08-05-2015 at 03:52 AM.

Thanked: 56I hear that. I have an order from SRD that was shipped Priority on July 27 and an eBay purchase shipped on July 25 that are both stuck somehow in my local sort facility. I have had so many delayed packages by USPS that I will pay the extra couple bucks for UPS whenever possible from now on.

Thanked: 45I have an awesome Filarmonica NOS Doble Temple sitting in the Mail Recovery Center (in theory, I presume lost) at the moment. I am currently trying to work something out with the seller but alas it seems I am just going to claim for a refund and call it good. Once something goes wrong with the USPS, it seems things just fall into a black hole.
On a lighter note, enjoy that TI! I have a few myself and they are generally my daily drivers for shaving. They hold a fantastic edge and really are well crafted.

I would love to have a TI but SRD has been out of them for months now. TI must make only so many and when out, they are out!

Thanked: 4828They are beauties and great shavers, and even at that price it was shave ready, nice pick up.

Whenever I have a problem, I call their national number but when you do, it is very hard to get through to a human but I've got it down now. Just say tracking & the computerized message will ask for the tracking number. Just say it very slowly like 1 digit every 5 seconds & the computerized woman will keep repeating it a few times but just keep doing the same thing until she might ask for additional information like is it an overseas package or in the states & answer it. She will then connect you to customer support & they will track it down to it's last known place it was & it may be a couple of days but you WILL get it if it wasn't stolen by an employee but that isn't usually likely. I've had them sit somewhere's on a shelf & just get un-noticed until they do a search for it & then it will then complete delivery! My branch was sending parcels to the wrong addresses because I would track it & it would finally say "out for delivery" but I would never get it. I would then check the tracking number again & it would say delivered to front door & I would look out there but it wouldn't be there, so I was calling this number at least twice a month & they would have to call my branch to see WTF was going on. I knew this because I get other peoples mail all the time! It will be the right street nuber, wrong street. The carrier that delivered it would then have to remember where they delivered it & I would eventually get it a couple days later. They got to knowing me quite well because I'm not exaggerating, I had to call at least twice a month because of the same issue! Here's the number:

You'll like the Le Dandy, it should be one of the older "69" models which are much better IMHO but all their straights are good, but I'm partial to the older ones!
