I am convinced, but take pics at a lower angle toward and away from the ends. Into and out of the light. Not dead-on, so to speak!
"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

It looks like it is Ivory. I do know it is a W&B. I saw one of those blades in a small lot of blades on the bay this week from whippedog.

I have a Joseph Smith & Sons which is definitely Ivory but whoever did the scales sanded them very smooth & clear coated them or put CA on them to make them very smooth & shiny. They are also very thin & have no collars. I have another Ivory straight around here that is finished very similar.

They are pretty thin. Less than 2mm I'd guess.
EDIT: 1.4mm according to my caliper. And thanks for all the great info everybody. I'm off to work now but I'll take more pics when I get home.Last edited by notitfortat; 09-03-2015 at 07:50 AM.

Photos 1, 2, and 3 look like polished bone to me.
Pic 4 is a coin toss.
Pics 5, 6, and 7 look like Ivory.
My conclusion, is that one scale is ivory, and one is polished bone.
And I have never been wrong about anything.
!! Enjoy the exquisite taste sharpening sharpening taste exquisite smooth. Please taste the taste enough to ride cutlery.
