Nothing wrong with Amazon if you get a truly great deal! But rest assured that razor more than likely will not be finalized for shaving. Just send to a reputable honer and when it comes back, you will be impressed! In fact, that will be the bar for you to set what a truly shave ready razor should feel like.

For a razor to 'tug' there are 2 variables.
1. The edge is not properly sharp which can be corrected by competent honing.
2. Technique is lacking. Be it stropping, lathering, shaving angle etc... That is about practice & experience.
Only #2 is in the hands of a new user. The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

Thanked: 3215Keep the razor, your shaves will only get better, Boker is a fine razor and extra hollows are easy to maintain. I particularly like full and extra hollow grinds.
Really it is a matter of preference, once properly honed all razors shave well, as said technique improves the shave.

Thanked: 2209To find SRP members in your area use this search screen. In the "Location" field put in your city/state the first time. If that does not get you any names then use the name of a major city nearby. The last option is to simply enter your state, then sort on the number of posts field.

Another place to look is in the Get Togethers forum, (razor meets)
here is a link to the forum. Just search for those in your state at first.

Thanked: 2209Another good way to find local help is to post in the Honing forum and ask if there is anyone in your area. Be specific about your city, state.
and look at the "Local Help" state listing in the library.
