Please don't think that expensive soap equals good soap. Just wait a bit and there will be great responses here shortly.. you already got at least one.

I get a feeling this thread is going to get very creative.

I guess what I was trying to say (and poorly) is that if her were to post a picture of his razor and it was engraved would people say "why in the world did he do that?" I do not know if you are a football fan but, GO SWANS!

Would something like this be a good choice? it is a restored Wade & Butcher "Fine India Steel Razor."
Sorry, that's probably the last one I'd choose. But the Rattler is something else. Same scales, which I dont personally like that much, but the blade looks great.

The Aust linked before looks much nicer in my opinion.

Divorce is not the goal! He likes wood and abalone, hence thinking the razor above might be a good idea. You saved me so much money on divorce proceedings!

So would you two say that Floris is not the "best" (and yes I know how problematic that question is)?

As a layperson buying a straight razor, I would stay away from ebay and buy something new, well made, pretty and that is guaranteed to be shave-ready out of the box. I think he won't be disappointed with a nice brand new Ralf Aust. Here's mine, a 7/8 with black horn scales.

"GO SWANS!!!" Might look a little silly on a razor. Maybe I should put that on his Derringer instead.

"BiTCHiN'!" is a strong option, but I was more thinking his initials.

With that budget, maybe a new Thiers Issard.

Initials are perfectly doable on the blade itself.

Basically everything within reason. Etching, engraving, worked or scalloped back, different scales - you name it. The budget will set the limits, though. And you will have to order four weeks in advance, because it will made in, and then shipped from, Solingen.
