Where I bought it should make no difference. The question is Shave Ready or not from Hart razors?

Thanked: 1936Hart razors are good utilitarian razors. As far as the edge goes, I've heard mixed stories.
Only way to know how the edge is will be to shave with it or have someone to shave with it and report to you. I've done this second option for quite a few people, some edges were fine, some were not and I corrected this for them so that they had a true shave ready razor.Southeastern Oklahoma/Northeastern Texas helper. I didn't know SRD dealt in Hart I thought Classic was sole distributer.
I have one Hart and it needed work when I got it.No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Did not know SRD testifies to razors they do not sell as being shave ready????? But hey, I don't get out much. I will say Hart has a following. I have just yet to see anything from them I like.
I would say the proof is in the pudding as the saying goes. Try it, if it feels buttery smooth and shaves off the hair, it is shave ready. If it pulls and brings tears to your eyes, then it needs a honing!German blade snob!

Yea it does make a difference who you got it from, maybe they already dulled the blade, maybe they lied to you, so yea it does, as for their blades straight from the maker , mouth or miss, but I didn't know SRD sold them ,,, tc

My guess is the OP meant to type SRP ? I could be wrong though, I was wrong once before.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Mine was not shave ready when I got it, but it was close. It just needed a quick touch up.

Hi to all!
Just for the record. This Hart razor was not close to being shave ready. First, I tried one pass with it and it pulled whiskers pretty bad. Then I sent it to a hornmiester and he took some pictures of the blade under a scope. Now I can recognize a good shave ready from a bad one. I should have sent it back to where I bought it but the problems was taken care of .
Thanks guys for your time and input.
