Very popular here in Australia too, I saw a razor in antique shop with 2 chips, each halfway up the blade, they wanted $38 dollars for it.

The more people buying them, the scarcer and more expensive they become... Makes the Wall of Shame thread look like a gold mine.

Yea, cat's out of the bag. I've seen a few articles here and there touting the benefits of wet shaving over disposables. I kinda pity the hipsters buying old razors thinking they'll hone them and be able to use it for shaving...their hardware store oil stones and honing systems that are advertised to get things "razor sharp!" won't and they'll drive themselves mad chasing a half decent edge. Hopefully they've had the sense to get a professionally honed razor before trying the DIY approach. There's definitely a learning curve there lol.

Just got back from a weekend in the poconos and stopped in some more antique shops. I found one where the guy has 2 cigar boxes full of ones all in original cases, some dubl ducks, Cmon, one filarmonica and more.
Not all were in good condition and he had a sheet with some eBay price listings so nothing went under 200 bucks.

The dubl duck was nice but no where in the condition for the price he was asking!

Good thing is I have a decent collection of straights that I use and I'm a very patient collector.

I've heard shave related products advertised on at least three talk radio shows in the last week. I do enjoy Cremo so it was nice being ahead of the curve. If the 20 something hipsters switch to old fashioned straight shaving, their lack of knowledge may cause a short term shortage of vintage gear. I hope it fades quickly, as does in popular culture. That will open up the supply when they try & fail for following a fad rather than learning the science and culture.

To deobfuscate is to convert something that is difficult to un͝d̡͝e҉͞r̴͝st̨̕a͘͢n̢̛d̕̕ ̧͝

Yes, perhaps once the fad dies the market will flood with the razors everyone is now disposing of... perhaps or perhaps not. One can hope.

I really hope the hipsters stick with shavettes, yes I have a beard but I use my razors for my head. I am not going to lie I was scared to shave my head at first but now I'm getting better.
