Some might even buy them for weapons, not the best weapon but Hollywood seems to have a razor fight in a lot of action movies.

I found some at antique store a while back. The guy had 20 blades, othose I maybe wanted 3. His only offer was all of them for $200 or none at all. Needless to say I left and haven't gone back. I gave up going to the local stores because if they do have something it's over priced. I will say that since I started things have blown up a lot. I remember seeing W&B FBU's go for under $200 on ebay, now they go for over $500!

They do show up here in the antique stores but most you would not bother with being high priced and not in particularly good condition. It is rare to find a decent one.

Yep and all the 20 something news are now honing professionally and selling on eBay as shave ready. I quit looking . If I need a razor I just wait till someone I know has one that I like and buy it, or like I've been doing for 3 years I just order a custom, in any blade style I,m looking for. Oh well I shaved for over 40 years with a DE I guess I could go back to it. Tc

oh and Phrank has all the really nice W&B,s so no reason to look for them!!!

I'm not a big fan of "hipsters" and that's why it bothers me
I have gotten lucky before at old barber shops and really have all the straights but as a collector i'll always be looking and I guess that's half the fun!

Hey I'm a 20 something that sells shave ready razors on ebay! However everyone raves about my edges and usually interrogate me on my stones and methods used. I have yet to win a razor advertised as shave ready that actually was, and there have been many. I'm in the same age bracket as these hipsters, and I hate that so much....

My dad is an avid antiquer, and has been for many years. He told me that a while back he used to see straight razors everywhere, but they are a fairly rare sight now. I don't go all that often to antique shops but have found only a few sad and well used/abused straights. (An exception of course was my find last week that I posted lol)

Whenever I go to Regina, the antique mall there usually has a few straight razors and other shaving related items. I've had some pretty good luck going there. In Winnipeg I have found a few shaving items at different antique shops and malls. They are usually overpriced for "junk". On my courier route I have 3 antique shops. I stop in periodically and see if they have anything. Found an old strop and the odd razor.
