My Gold Dollar 209 came today. Pretty much the same as the other gold dollars. Scales are the same flimsy plastic and the blade has the same chunky ass stabilizer thingy and a bad grind. I just finished beating it into submission and it eventually took an edge. I'll give it a test shave some time this week. You know, honing a Gold Dollar is a lot like honing some of the tougher old Sheffield blades. Lots of work and a good bit of finess. The difference is that when its all said and done, all you have to show for your effort is a shave ready Gold Dollar.

    That's a shame.
All my 208's (and I've sorted out at least 2 dozen) have much better scales compared to the 66.
They are made of a stronger plastic and perfectly parallel to each other.
The blades themselves are finished far better too, however they still take as much work as the 66 to bring into shape.
