Default Anyone using a Rockwell 6S DE Razor?

    Hi All,

It's been some time since I last posted. It's good to be back.
Although I use a straight for face shaving, I use a DE for my head. I've been using a Gillette Slim for some time now, but was looking to get myself a Christmas gift, and opted to pickup the new Rockwell 6S. I really like the concept of the razor, and am hoping that they have gotten all the kinks worked out from their prototype razors. Has anyone here tried the 6S. Not too interested in comments about the prototype version, or the subsequent fixes to that first rendition. I'm more interested in feedback on their final 6S version. The MIM casted razor. Here's a link to the page if you're not familiar with them. Rockwell Razors - Stainless Steel Adjustable Safety Razors

    Thanks,

I heard they had issues with the first batch, but supposedly all is fixed now.
I do not see many talking about them but that could be because they are fairly new to the market.

    Very interesting....
And if I was still on a DE quest (AD) I'd be on this..

But I've settled in to the Conventional Straight when I'm home, Feather DX when I travel and can check or stash on site.
I've started selling or PIF my DE's with the exception of a 1953 Gillette Y4 Super Speed - not a birth year (pre-dates me) but a great DE that I use at home when time is an issue (like 2-4 times a year..)

    Thanks for sharing...

If I was going to use an adjustable, and I do, I would want one that could be adjusted with out having to take it apart.

So for those who use the adjustable DE...
Do you change the setting as you shave or with different blades or do you get to some setting and then just stay with it?

I use a straight got my face but an adjustable DE for my head. Once I find the setting that works for me, that's pretty much where the razor stays. I've seen a few people who make adjustments on each pass, and this razor would not be a great fit for that method. But for the set it and forget it crowd, this 6S would fit nicely, if it turns out to be a good shaver.

Everyone is different in how they use an adjustable DE from what I can read. Me, I worked up to the setting with the most blade gap and left it there for all my passes and any blade during a shave.

Nice thing about an adjustable is that it is flexible enough to allow you other options. It is a razor you can grow into because as your technique improves you can increase the razor's aggressiveness.
