Just measured it - the edge is 2-7/8" and the whole piece closed is 7". It is big..I had only seen them in pictures and was stunned when I open the case. My first reaction was Wow! an expensive farm implement.

Interesting - I had not noticed before but it seems that the Mastro razors have a shorter blade (shorter than 3") - is this so?
I'm not a large man (5'7") but I find it fairly easy to maneuver.
