Thread: Help with a filarmonica

This is where experience comes into play. With all that missing blade and who knows what else the geometry is all out of whack. You should be using tape to bring it in line. The middle is not being honed despite what the marker is telling you. I would use 2 layers of tape and try some circles and see what it feels like. Perhaps apply a little pressure to the middle of the blade. Not to insult you in anyway. I think this is a bit above your skill level at this point. Not an ideal blade to start out with. Good luck.

no insult taken i thought as much as i started, i will try with some tape today and see if i get lucky

OK after placing 2 layers of tape I was able to make the entire blade sharp and had a nice shave with it today
