Pumas first class are nice shavers, without luxury. They are the cheaper razors on Lauterjung und Sohn´s Puma brand cutlery line for a lot of time and are still in production. Unfortunately, and unlike other german PUMA products as knives, they don´t bear a serial number, so it´s unlikely to trace the production date for an individual razor.
Older PUMA straight razors have codes and marks that tells not only the date of production, but also the artisan who grinded every single razor allowed to market.

I had an old Puma with 'High Class' etched on the belly of the blade in goldwash. Round point 6/8 IIRC. Faux tortoise scales. Back when the Puma logo was deep stamped on the blade. Probably from the '60s-'70s when it was still family owned. Good razors in them days. I don't know about now.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

If you have the box that can give you a clue. The "wood" boxes were from one era and the cardboard were older ones. I think the "wood" boxes were the later ones from the 60s-70s. Also some are marked made from best puma steel and some are marked made from best pumaster steel and that's another clue as to age. I know we have discussed Puma before so there are threads on this.
