Hi guys, found this old relic among my collection and wondered if anyone knew any info on it? The name seems to read " H.C. Trenery & Co, Manufacturers, Sheffield".
Although it's really hard to read it may be M.C. and may be Trenern ? Any info would be appreciated.

Thanked: 12Sorry, no actual info on the maker, but it looks like it may be "Trenery" also, looks like it'll clean up real nice, though some of that pitting at the edge is a little worrying... good luck!

It appears he was a merchant in Sheffield during the later 19th c. Here is a one-liner reference to him as a shareholder:

So likely the razor was made by someone else in Sheffield and stamped with the merchant name.
Here are some more references:

Thanked: 580If it is a wedge there is usually enough meat to get them back up and shaving, although you may lose a bit of width going by the pitting close to the edge. Have seen worse.

He could be the Henry Clapp Trenery who died at Sheffield in 1909 aged 67. Further work required; I'll see what Ancestry turns up in the census lists.
