    It certainly looks like HC Trenery never made razors, but he could have sold them. The censuses from 1881 to 1901 have him as a nut and bolt manufacturer. He left 4572 pounds 12s 6d when he died, which was a considerable sum at that time.

    Interesting Maladroit, possibly not unusual for a Sheffield razor of that era to be marketed under another manufacturers name. Then again I wouldn't be surprised to see a few come out of a "nuts and bolts" factory either.

    It's a pity we can't see any lists of the people who worked for Trenery; if any of them were cutlers it would be a strong indicator of razor manufacture. Alas, that sort of data is hard to come by.

    Hi Grazor, why would that be? Surely there wouldn't have been that much profit in just marketing razors, given the amount that were being manufactured elsewhere in the same city?
