Welcome to SRP. Hibbard Spencer & Bartlett were a good company. They made good pocket knives that have become collectible as well. If you are shaving with straights already you probably won't need to, but if you're starting out go to our videos, and our library for tips on using them. Unless you hone the best thing would be to send that out to a pro. There are some in SRP's classifieds under 'Member Services' in the toolbar at the top of the page.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 0Thank you for the advice!
But im the type of man that likes to learn things. Ive gotten my old skinning knife to where i can shave with it but this is alittle different. Its a good skill to know and ive got some lower quality blades that I will practice on before getting to the hibbard. it just puzzled me if this was like a special request awhile back because I cant find any other hibbards with the same tip or that engraving. Thanks again for reading

How will you know when it's truly shave ready? Not saying you can't sharpen a knife, all of us can, but a razor s a different sharp , it needs to be smooth also , knives are pretty easy in comparison, they don't shave your face they only cut inanimate objects,, get one done so you know where to get to, plus your knife stones ain't cutting it,, nice razor though. Thanked: 0Very true, im sure some local barbers might have that skill set? Im not too big on sending stuff off. Its not the person its being sent to, its the person delivering it i dont trust. I have a "practice" razor that was free that ive been honing. But I defiantly hear you out, im not sure how sharp is shave sharp. ANd I do need a different stone, this one isnt cutting it. Not sure if that counts as a pun haha

A while back I had a Hibbard Spencer Bartlett & Co. razor and it was a nice shaver. A little history note I discovered while researching it the HSB & Co. later became True Value.........
