Thanked: 1Scale makers advice please
I'm putting some feelers out right now.
I'm very intrigued by the Tagua or vegetable ivory look and feel. My question: is it feasible to make some scales out of this material? I know they would most likely have at least 2 seams on each scale as the tagua nut doesn't grow large enough to make a full scale out of a single nut. With that reality, perhaps those seams could be camouflaged somehow with simple decoration so as not to take away from the look or feel of the main product.
I'm not even sure if the nut could get wet without damage. As I say, I'm just exploring potential right now. The idea, if doable, is to have a set of scales made to rescale my Wapienica razor.
My other related question: is anyone willing to do this, if it can be done?

Thanked: 0Tagua is often used to make buttons, for shirts or jackets, so I figure that getting wet shouldn't be an issue.

Thanked: 1Paul, I guess that makes sense. I'm hoping the project is actually feasible now.
