The Gold Mandarin was one of their rarer models. I have one myself. Be very careful with those scales, they are celluloid and have a tendency to deteriorate and give off gas which will rust the razor. I had to remove mine.

Thanked: 2Could you guess the date of this razor. I know I cannot ask for an appraisal, who can I take it to for that? I am trying to sell it. Thanks again for your help!

Thanked: 2I have searched high and low for a match to mine and have not been successful. Being a female, I have no real use for this and I bet that someone else would treat it better than just in a box in a drawer. I'll continue to hunt around for one similar to get a base amount of where to start. It is dang sharp, my finger could attest to that. Thank you Chevhead,TwistedOak and thebigspendur! Is a Gold Mandarin different than a Special #1 and Goldedge? Is it safe to date it 1930s?

yup goldedge, special #1, wonderedge, etc. are all just model names of dubl ducks. I've actually never seen a gold mandarin model, but there is a first time for everything.
