Thanked: 10Hi
I will be 70 in October.
There is a bit of shake in my hand so I cut my self a bit.
My last shave was with a Magnetic. On my cheek bone I gave myself a 1/2" cut. I don't think any of my blades would pass the hanging hair test routinely.
The sharp edge does a good close shave, closer than my ZY
I am still learning.
If my blade is pulling I put it back on my finest slate. A welsh 15K according to the seller.
Compared to my 10000 Chinese the scratches are bigger, maybe 2x bigger than the slate.
The car polish can when new make scratches equal to the 15k slate or bigger.
My loaded strop is worn because I have not added any polish to it since the initial application.
All this is subjective by comparing the result on my face. I am finding the sharper the edge, less pressure is needed to shave close.
I don't have a microscope. I wish I did so I could publish pictures
I am in economy mode right now because I have to drive from Florida to Colorado starting on the 28th.
My son is moving to Daytona for a new job.
I did find some feox, rust powder for sale.
It is courser than the green Crox, when new. Any abrasive will wear and break down. Obviously diamond will break down slower than other materials.
The learning and the experience is the enjoyment for me, otherwise why bother. There is easier shaves on the market.Dennis

Thanked: 169The best test would be someone who ordered a lot of the things to measure the spines to see how sloppy the tolerances are blade to blade and what the bevels hash out at on each.

Thanked: 169I just figured they're gold Dollars they ground that wretched heel from out of the gates. I am curious if they finally thinned the spine to create an appropriate bevel.

Thanked: 2591I ordered two from two different vendors to avoid razors from the same batch.
One of them came in today. At first glance the spine was uneven ground and the razor itself was slanted with wider heel and narrower toe.
I used magic marker to get contrast and as you can see from the pictures it does not look very good.
IMHO this razor is not better made than a GD , the heel stabilizer is missing but the overall feel is identical to me.

Thanked: 169That's a drag... That is why I tell ppl who are new to spend the $15-25 on a nice genco usually when they ask what to get.

Thanked: 169I still find their straight razor attempts interesting. They are bound to make something acceptable eventually...
