Thanked: 346I didn't mention Wacker because I thought he had used up all his quarter hollow blanks, but accd to Crowley he found some more. So Wacker still makes them too.
I've only got one Wacker (a super-flexible 6/8 stippleback) that was cosmetically great when I got it. The gold wash has now worn somewhat at the shank, but that's to be expected with that stuff. It was a major challenge to hone, but once honed up it delivered outstanding shaves.

Thanked: 0OK, I went to the horse's mouth (John Crowley) on some issues. I am satisfied with his response and I am greatly appreciative. I have a Dovo 1/2 Hollow (Ebenholtz). So, I will pursue some of the other suggestions given here. I do however want to see some of the custom ones the "masters" are holding out on.
