Fal, examples of Hess razors come up from time to time. They have a following, for certain.

The one pictured above is a carbon-steel #1 almost 9/8, top-to edge. Sorry to say, but those are probably all gone. The stainless 44 is awesome as well as the wedgy 42.

Here is a 44 with a Hess Clydesdale strop. The draw on this thing rivals Neil Miller Shell.

Fantastic, Thanks Tom. Both are good looker's, the strops I would like to go to a strop shop and feel the different draws for myself, I have two Vintage strops and one I made from horse hide and super heavy canvas, starting to think that the old strops are damaging my edges even though I cleaned and rubbed them both out with a bottle.

Awww hell, I forgot to add my hones in there Tom. I also have a shaving cup with some porcelain chipped off of it but it commemorates the Louisiana Purchase & on the bottom of it you can see old man Shapleigh had 'em shipped from Austria.

Old strops are either good or bad, FME. Depends upon where they have lived and how good they were to begin with.

Good ones in good shape, treated right, are hard to beat. JMO

That's some cool findings Tom. I need to look for more but I have an Enders Razor with an Enders hone but no other Enders items. I need to dig out my other things. This Keen Kutter razor came with Ivory scales just like that E.C. Simmons Barbers Pet I showed off awhile back.

Tom, did you buy out a barber's supply? Where do you find all the minty strops to match your razors?

No, but I did go on a vintage strop jag a while back. I saw just a few from a few, so I thought they might not be around much more.
I suppose I caught a few from some who had a lot.

I think I have a few more which will match some razors. Will keep looking around!
