Seeing matching strops and razors makes me wonder if some of the Sheffild makers sold strops. Anybody ever seen a Wade &Butcher or a Wostenholm strop?

Man, I hear you, but those would be dust by now, I think?
My vintage strops range from the mid-50's on, I think."Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

Surviving strops may be limited to paddle strops such as this very old Heiffor Military Razor strop-box.

I rest my case.

Thanked: 2284Remember when I said a few pages back that I really wanted a Wade & Butcher bowl gouge for my lathe......
Well, these arrived in the mail today from my good friend Sharptonn. Never told me what he was sending, just told me something was coming for me.
3 for sure are Wade & Butcher, the others may be as well but can't see any makers marks. They may be deeper on the spike which is in the handle.
Tom sure knows the way to a Wood turners heart! Hehehe.
Thank you again Tom. I truly can't wait to make chips with all these.Burls, Girls, and all things that Swirl....

Thanked: 2284[QUOTE=FAL;1640028]Heck ya I have an idea. I got 4 old Lignum Vitae ship bearings sitting here that I've been saving for a special occasion. Kill 2 birds with 1 stone, Break in these gouges with the hardest wood known to man, and finally make something cool out of this Lignum Vitae. Not saying what I'm making though.

[QUOTE=FAL;1640028][QUOTE=HARRYWALLY;1640029]I have several Of Andrew's brushes. Love each and every one!
Just something to show him I appreciate his talents.
In some small way, I may have a hand in some of his masterpieces! HAR!
Use them in good health, Andrew! I look forward to seeing one or all used in your cool videos!
THAT would be ample reward!"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

Not sure if it's rare or impressive as a set of W&B gouges but nobody's shown one yet: some Dubl Duck barbers shears
