I never questioned if someone could make a 'better' razor than W&B. I think every custom maker today who is in business can do that. I questioned the use of a historical marque that has been out of production for a hundred years or so... Zero continuity...

And if you are able to wrest control of the company from Michael and his partner, you are welcome to do nothing with it. Until then, it is their call to make.

Before WWII a company named Willys Overland created and marketed what would become the Jeep to the US Government based on a series of requirements issued for the war. Lots of companies submitted designs in the short time period allotted, and Willys won. When the contract was awarded, however, Willys only made a very small number of those vehicles and the design was licensed to lots of producers...on of whom eventually became known as Jeep (AM General) some time later. Fast forward again several decades later and the brand has been passed along, and while omnipresent in some form (unlike W&B which to be fair has not had a product in quite some time) the brand has changed hands numerous times. All the while, the Jeep remained in spirit and design cues harkened back to the original Willys Overland in the form of an iconic grille design. Modern Jeeps are no more related to the original Willys than a custom, W&B stamped, new production razor would be related to an original FBU...but people will likely be drawn to them none the less.

Long story short, the new W&B could be similar in a lot of ways...many things have changed, but the opportunity to revive and maintain the iconic design, even if modernized a bit, is still a marketable and noble opportunity. I don't feel it cheapens the brand in the least...it just means it is evolving.

Well, a lot of folks think that "Jeep" ceased to be when Chrysler bought out AMC. In my humble opinion, Jeep ceased to be when Chrysler made the decision to discontinue the iconic inline 6 back in 2006, and replaced it with a minivan V-6. Fortunately it only took them 4 years to correct that error, time will tell if their new Pentastar V6 will live up to it's predecessor. But if they were going to screw with perfection, they could've at least dropped a truck engine into it. Or a V-8. :rock:

But, that is the nature of things. They change. Regardless of what Chrysler does with new Jeeps the changes to the new lineup will not diminish or alter my enjoyment of my AMC Jeep CJ7 and it's 258 Inline 6. I'm curious to see what the new Wade & Butcher will bring to the table. Regardless of what changes are made, it ought not diminish or alter anyone's enjoyment of their vintage blades. If some of those iconic patterns and grinds make a return so much the better.

Clearly I lack the sensitivity concerning Michael and his partner. Perhaps they would allow you hold a position in their fabulous endeavor.

Yeah, that obviously must be my motivation, I guess. I couldn't possibly just think that somebody can do what they want with what they purchase.
