I keep mine in a rotation box that my mother made for me. It is strong, dry, and has a lock that prevents my baby daughter from opening it in the unlikely event that she should be able to reach the top shelf in the bathroom.

    No rust problems so far.

You know these little paper sachets in shoes, toolboxes and the like? I have collected them all and put them into the bottom of my razor mug. I make sure that they are packed around the razors, and I always put a drop of oil onto the pivot after every use.

Not sure how good this is long term, but it seems to work so far.

Mine are stored in an antique oak medicine cabinet (with mirrored door) in my bathroom and steam hasn't been an issue. As long as you're keeping a close eye on your blades, you shouldn't have a problem.

Kees, you think the carbon rusts more? Wow! now thats odd. The only razor I've had that has actually rusted was the Bergiersher Lowe. Other carbon razors have been ok in the bathroom. Could just have been errant maintenance though.

My main rotation lives in a canvas roll which I keep in my sock drawer etc, I take it into the bathroom when I want to shave and take it out again afterwards. No problems with rust etc, the razors get a quick wipe off with a towel after use then put back in the roll.

I actually wrote that in my experience the carbon steel of razors seems to be LESS prone to rusting than a lot of ordinary non-stainless steel.

I think if you are using and drying a razor regularly, it can be kept in a bathroom. I keep my razors i am not using regualrly in a drawer in another room.

NB, i buy and use cheap old razors, so i do not have any 'investments' which could be destroyed devalued.

Some of the razors I like most were pretty cheap too - but I like so much I'd hate to see them deteriorate

    Cheers
