    Default Flic Razor score

Hey guys check out this Flic Razor and kleen kutter hone I got from the antique store!

I've been trying to find a Razor in good enough shape to just strop up and use and this one seems like it'll do the job! I tried it out this morning and it's a bit rough. I think I'll use some green polish and see if I can get a good shave in a day or two!

Any advise or history associated with these two?

They look to be in very good shape. Where is the razor made?

Heh, that's what my address says! I don't actually live on the salt flats, just near them...

Cool. I've driven through there a few times. I didn't think anything lived there except for snakes and coyotes!

Flic was a brand of the quite famous Solingen razor maker Max Voos. The razors made under the name Flic were produced for export and a lot of them went to Australi and New Zealand but also to the States. The razors were made in the 1930's. Later the company DOVO took over the brand.
I got a few Flic razors and all of them are exceptional shavers, i.e. better than most of the old Dovo straights in my opinion.

Nice find. I have one Flic razor and I still need to hone it. Yours is fancier than mine.

That's a great looking blade! Not sure what you mean by "use some green polish" but I assume you mean stropping with it to try to bring the edge back. I would advise instead that you try to bring it back with your new hone. If that doesn't do the trick, there are several of us that offer honing services in the classifieds section.

That is a great looking razor and hone! Glad to hear you found it at an antique store, I have a feeling it's going to be an excellent shave, enjoy!
