That particular model, the #69, is one of the nicest and most consistent French framebacks you'll find in my opinion, I've had a few of them, good luck, they're also very popular IIRC....
I don't think the 69 is referring to the model. That was how the Germans did it, but the French makers would have a number that they used as a trade mark. TI had 69 on most of their older razors. Name: image.jpg

Yup - have that same list...all the old marks...I have a few on that list...including the Duverr Bros, which is the #19, on my phone typing so forgive the grammar and spelling, but the #69 is a stellar razor IMO...

Nope, the bid went as Rezdog said it might and I was caught napping.

That happens, but I cannot dedicate my life to winning bids and not getting other things done. If it is convenient I will sit and watch the end, and bid at the last seconds, provided it does not go over my limit before I bid. Other times I bid early and look at it after. I win more by watching but my numbers are the same so it does not make complete sense. Have one a few pay attempting to bid others up and having it dropped on me. Some of the ones that have been dropped on me have been good buys, just not razors I really wanted.

I'm consoling myself with the possibility of acquiring a Brooksbank wedge.

There are a lot of razors out there, and there is no sense fighting over them. Let the people with very deep pockets fight over them.

Well said. I have a couple, or three, all but one of which I have put back up for sale after try out. My Henckels 472 (non rostfrei) I have had since April, and I have used it almost every day since, it has only been refreshed on pasted linen, and has held an edge as keen as the day it arrived. The only problem now being that I have no worthwhile excuse for buying another!

I should probably put at least one of them (a vintage CMON) on the classifieds,

So I started looking for a French frameback, then became drawn to the idea of an English wedge, and settled finally on a PRC Hydra. I'm nothing if not decisive!
