Sorry to take this off topic, but I would like to issue a warning here regarding the current razors from Solingen. They fall into two categories: Aust, Revisor, and Wacker. I would buy any of the first two without hesitation. Wacker had some massive problems a few years back, but their latest models have been very well received again.

Then there is Dovo. I would not buy any of their 5/8 models without handling it first, or buying it from Straight Razor Designs who do the handling. Because some of them are bad. So much so that some German retailers have phased them out, or are planning to. Their larger models are typically alright.

And then there are others, apparently made by two brothers in Solingen. They also use Herkenrath blanks, but their grinds are atrocious, often rendering them as useful as the average razor from China.

So, caveat emptor applies when buying any of the latter.

Sorry taking this off topic, but I feel it had to be said.

I have a 5/8 Dovo, from around 2011. Don't think it has this flaw, but it was my first razor so I wouldn't have noticed it propably..
I expect that this razor is old enough :-)
