Thanked: 292I purchased a Boker silver steel with faux tortoise scales a couple of months ago from SRD. It is one of my favorite razors. It is a superb shaver. It has black etching, not gold wash.
Silver steel is a tool steel. It is not stainless, nor does contain any silver. The term describes the high polish that the steel can develop. It is my understanding that when silver steel was first invented that it did contain a small percentage of silver, but that recipe was short lived.
