The answer is no,this is exactly the same razor that you saw for the price you quoted. Buy from reputable seller and more then likely it will come shave ready.

I purchased a Boker silver steel with faux tortoise scales a couple of months ago from SRD. It is one of my favorite razors. It is a superb shaver. It has black etching, not gold wash.

Silver steel is a tool steel. It is not stainless, nor does contain any silver. The term describes the high polish that the steel can develop. It is my understanding that when silver steel was first invented that it did contain a small percentage of silver, but that recipe was short lived.
