I've got a Wade & Butcher that has been given the same treatment and my mindset is that I love it purely for what it is. Mine was purchased here on SRP from mdwright and not only has its toe been amputated but somewhere in its past A. L. Jordan had his name engraved on its blade. Yes, these "deficiencies" are what allowed me to purchase this razor for a very reasonable price but its also these traits that give it a certain lovable character. Every time I pick it up I wonder who Mr. Jordan was and if he enjoyed his razor as much as I do.
One additional, minor, advantage is that since this blade has already been modified it frees me to make any other changes I'd like. Sometime in the future I plan to have this razor cleaned up and restored to some extent, including discarding the celluloid scales that adorn it in favor of something with more character and less danger of cell rot.

I have several that have been chopped as well, and they are fantastic razors.
Having said that, there are many that were originally designed as spike points and are the full length, they are my favourite, and seem very hard to come by.
I have a few, this big smiler is one of my favourites.

right on green ripper! i appreciate the kind words and I am very excited with the future possibilities for this razor. it does intrigue me to know the age and for how long it has been in existence. i often wonder where they have been and who had them before me. i can accept not knowing the age and appreciate it for what it is.
