I was at a local antique shop recently and saw a Dubl Duck Wonderedge for sale . The scale had a bit of a crack near the wedge pin and it looked like it could've used a cleaning but otherwise looked to be in decent condition. Until The sales clerk opened the display case and I had a look at the blade . It had excessive hone wear: The blade measured about 5/8 at the heel and tapered to 4/8 at the toe . From the look of the spine I figure a previous owner was from the use the disc grinder school of honing . So, would it have been worth buying anyway? The blade is a write off IMO but, even with the crack, I was thinking the scales might have been salvageable. The vendor was asking fifty five dollars and, although tempted, I took a pass. Anyway, if anyone here is in the market for Wonderedge scales then PM me with an amount you'd be willing to pay and I'll go make an offer and see if the vendor goes for it. Worth a try, anyway.
