If it does protrude through the scales then it'll definitely get rescaled

It looks to me like the scales were custom made for it. There's a sharper than usual bend up near the pivot. I think it'll sit very close to the edge, but still within the scales.

Thanked: 7First impression is that the forge mixed up the order for snow-shovels with their order for razors.
That is a monster. Can hold all of the stubble and lather for three passes on one side of your face.

The razor arrived safe and sound today. It is huge. By my calipers it's 31.5mm which makes it 1 1/4 or 10/8 in size.
It's not really difficult to hold. I know that it looked weird in the original photos it would be fine to shave with.
The blade doesn't fit in the scales so now I've got the challenge of finding an appropriate set of scales, probably dark horn, to fit a 10/8 blade.
Here's a few more photos of it in my hand and with a Dovo 5/8 for scale.Last edited by johnmrson; 08-25-2017 at 07:00 AM.

That is a huge razor! Like Glen said: for tiny fingers. Too short for my fingers. We all envy you
