Thanked: 1Thank you to everyone on the feedback and the "likes".
It was not my intention to do drive-by advertising. My intention was to gain information on the set and opinions on the value of these but I did not read the forum rules that valuations are not allowed - that was my bad. I would not have posted if I knew this was not allowed.
Great forum.

It is not that what you did is not allowed, to those of us in this hobby we see a set like this and drool. It is that most of us see it as bad form. I do also understand that it is difficult to narrow down information on these items. So honestly you came to the right place for info we just would rather see the people that come here enjoy them and use them rather than get info to turn a profit.
I'm only speaking for myself of course and in no way am I upset, nor do I believe anyone else to be. I wish you the best of luck with your sale, I'd be bidding if I had the extra cash in all honestyNothing is fool proof, to a sufficiently talented fool...

In the years I've followed this forum I thought it was OK to post a few pics (or just name the item) here and say "Hey guys, I have this up on auction"... as long as you don't link to the actual auction. And people are less "upset" if the auction starts at $0.99
Anyhow, I swear I saw it on a few occasions, but in truth I don't really follow the "Auction talk" section for a long while now.As the time passes, so we learn.

I think it is OK to show in the auction talk subforum a bit if you are a regular member.
A 'self-policing' sort of rule?
However, the feeding frenzy and the fact it is on EBay now was not announced by the OP.
Why do selling on the open forum when we will do it for you?
Good luck on it!

Well, before being reminded of the rules, I was going to say send them to me and I'll do an amateur appraisal and forward them back to you in a "while".
Just call me Harold
