    Default Straight razor storage

I currently have approximately a dozen DE razors and another dozen straight razors. I currently have them laying loose in my drawer in the bathroom. I am curious how others store their razors.

I would like to find a better option than I currently have. My wife is not as big of a fan of razors as I am (crazy hey) and she does not want them out on display. I am fine with that as my collection will continue to grow over time and it is in my best interest not to display my growing collection to my wife

What do you guys do? Send me some pics! If there are any people who do wood working and sell custom boxes or plans for me to make my own please let me know. I'm interested in larger storage systems that I could place under the sink away from my wife.

    Help a brother out!

    Thanks,

    Aaron

Cigar boxes would work for ya. If your going to keep them in the bathroom. I dont recommend it as all the moisture in that room dont help them. Lots of folks feel this way and you will find others say no big deal to store in bathroom. I have my own play room that the wife dont use or clean. And i made a display board for mine. Well for most of mine. Ha.Name: 20170702_123339.jpg

I'm jealous. That is a sweet setup "Gasman" AND you are still married.

I have this small table thing I use to hold all my stuff. Razors I am using usually on top, others I place inside of a wooden canvas for painting, got it for few bucks.

My trick to keep the wife happy is buying a house with extra bedrooms. One for me to play in and one for her. She dont play in mine and i stay out of the room full of clothes and make-up.

I've made a couple of these. One stays on the bedroom dresser ( away from humidity ) and the others are in my office. I'll rotate them on occasion.

Sadly most of mine are in plastic tubs with decicant packs with my current razor in a roll up.
I do envy those that have their stuff organized and on display boards.

Look up 'United Cutlery UC1183 Knife Roll' on Amazon. I double space the razors. Each roll holds about 17. Pic related. This is 3 rolls lined up.

There is storage and there is display. The second is out for you.
Razors and humid bathrooms often not a good thing.

Hunt a cigar box or this time of year a near manly looking pencil box that you can keep them in.
A small box can hold "this week's razor(s)" and larger boxes can store a collection.

You want something in the box to slurp up any humidity... just the opposite of a cigar humidor.
Desiccant is the stuff marked "do not eat" that we all toss out. Recharge in a warm oven.
The good desiccant switches from pink to blue depending its state.
    Google found...
Silica Gel Desiccant is made blue with cobalt chloride as an indicator.
Color changes from blue to pink when saturating.
Desiccant can adsorb moisture up to 40% of its own weight.
Regenerates at 350° F, in a drying oven for smaller applications.

    Google for
    Vaultz Locking Pencil Box, 8.25 x 5.5 x 2.5 Inches, Black

If you have kids look into child safe paper/gun/knife boxes.
A fire safe lock box can be inexpensive.

    Keep them dry ...
If you have some old scales with Celluloid scales wrap each in a dedicated zip lock bag
perhaps with a rolled up bit of paper with baking soda to neutralize any fumes. <---- Celluloid is a special case

Celluloid is a special case air is your friend... pay attention some great steel has suffered badly from Cell-rot.
