    Default My Three Musketeers

    Gentlemen,

I have loved the Three Musteteers by Alexandre Dumas since childhood. Athos, Portos and Aramis are my heroes. Of course, we cannot forget the Fourth Musketeer D'Artagnan.

A parallel affection covers four of my straight razors: Le Grelot, Gotta 120, Louper and Carl Schlieper, all 6/8 round points. Yes, I consider these my Three Musteteers, and the Fourth, D'Artagnan. These are superb shavers, and in near mint condition since I've owned them.

There are other prominent names in my modest straight razor collection — Puma, Globusmen, Wade & Butcher, etc. — all great shavers, but none grabs my heart as much as The Musketeers:

    Le Grelot — Athos
    Gotta 120 — Porthos
    Louper — Aramis
    and . . .
    Carl Schlieper — D'Artagnan

Gentlemen, do you have The Three Musteteers, and the Fourth, in your straight razor lineup?

Great bunch, Obie! I seem to enjoy that sort of razor more and more.
Mine would be a Carl Schlieper, Lauterjung Tiger, Ern Bar Science, and a Radium Fontenelle.

Sorry Obie but I much prefer the swashbuckling revenge of Dumas' "The Count of Monte Cristo" to "The Three Musketeers". My Wosty 7/8 swashbuckles revenge on my heavy beard with grace and style.

The 7/8 Wosty would have admirably served the Count of Monte Cristo — love the story.

My three come from all walks and ages of society:

    W&B 13/16 Rattler

No Name 6/8 Stub Tail Full Wedge

    Ed Wusthof 7/8 Full Hollow

There are contenders in my conglomeration of edges but these three are the current leaders.
