For long term storage AG Russell makes a product called no rust. It's a silicon based product. Once applied it lasts forever and gives 100% protection. I've used it for years.

I like all of these ideas but don't do the same as any of them myself!
There are so many options and most if not all of them work well. Go to your local hardware store or sporting goods store and find one of these mentioned. Dry the blade and coat it. Keep it dry while in storage and you will be good to go.
Be reasonable but don't over think it.

Thanked: 13249It really depends on what the length of storage is
Basically the 1-2 month term is where things change
Less than that most everything mentioned will work, longer than that then you have to reconsider the WHOLE razor not just the steel
Oils, grease, many lubes are just NOT designed for long term storage especially when you take the scales into account
For long term storage look into VCI paper"No amount of money spent on a Stone can ever replace the value of the time it takes learning to use it properly"
