I have 3 Thiers Issard razors, 5/8, 6/8, and 7/8. They are just as good if not better than any of the other razors I have. They stay sharp for a long time and are easy to maintain.

While Thiers made its own steel in the past, it now buys a portion of the Sheffield melt designed for medical instruments. In the process of razor manufacturer Thiers uses a lead hardening step that is unique to this company. As a result the edge of a TI razor is extremely durable and very sharp. The grind on some may not be pretty but they make masterval shavers with the Sheffield steel.
