Classic Edge carries a large assortment of new and vintage razors. Phil makes sure each is shave ready before it leaves his shop unless you specify otherwise.

I personally like to try different razors. I have found ones that i prefer. Wedges are one of my personal favorites, they have a nice heft that just glides through tough whiskers. Some people like them all and rotate through all different sizes. If you don't try something different you will never know.JMHO (or you can just play it safe. Nothing wrong with that either).

Yeah I haven't made up my mind about what my next one will be. I am kind of leaning toward the smaller widths (4/8 or 5/8) in quarter-hollow. That way I can get a bit more heft but also don't completely lose the feedback of a hollow.

The 6/8 half-hollow I have now seems a little too big and too flexible to get the smaller more sensitive areas under the nose. My moustache hair seems tougher than the rest of my beard, even after a shower and lather. Which is why I am hesitant to go with a full-hollow.

Perhaps my technique is wrong and the fact I am having a hard time is the razors way of providing feedback?

I actually found someone locally who can replace the scale on my razor and hone the blade. I'll save the custom stuff for a nicer razor in the future. Thanks for the offer though!

If you are having trouble with a full hollow on the tougher portions of your beard, it may be that the edge is not quite as sharp as it should/could be.

Makes sense. My blade could probably use a good honing about now anyway. It's been a couple of years since the last honing.

You must be some good at stropping bye. A couple of years between honings, wow.
