    Couple of years? Do you shave extremely infrequently or do you have a lot of straights?

    No not really lol. I haven't used my straight on a consistent basis until now. I would go through phases where I get into straight shaving again. Then life gets busy and I go back to using disposables for a whole. Then the cycle repeats. But I really would like to stick to straights for good now.

    Nice looking scales Phoenix.

    Brooke's, that blade was definitely ready for a touch-up anyway. That is almost certainly why it is starting to feel "scratchy" as you said is because the edge has dulled/deteriorated over the years. May only need a few passes on a finishing stone of the edge was properly dried and oiled.
