The Lichtständer is a (maybe older word) for a stand-up light, could be candle or oil/wick, I'm not sure. The 7-day set is definitely not universal; especially in continental sets, sets of 4, 6, and 8 are somewhat common.

I suspect the mirror has front-surface diamond dust rather than a mercury coating on the back, otherwise it would have tarnished by now. But why would Franz need a mirror; surely he had a personal barber to take care of such mundane tasks as shaving. Then again, perhaps he was a member of SRP who enjoyed the experience of shaving with a straight.
