French you say? Huh. Why not. I was thinking it might habe been from a hardware store or motel or from a co.pany the sells beauty products. And thats where the name is from. Made/stamped for the seller. It does have jimps in the thumb notch, and with the length of the tail im guessing around 1880 or 1900. Near wedge with little to no hone ware so thats a good thing. And the rust/pitting doesnt look real deap so i think it could be cleaned up nicely.
Just hope we can come up with some kind of background on it. It is stumping me badly. Abolutely nothing found on it besides this post. But i aint given up yet!It's just Sharpening, right?

Im now getting a lot of hit on the web in french. Family names, a cave, wines. I think you found the corner of the gold stone Tom. Hope our Fench folks pop in tonight.

Well I did some researching and came up with zero.
This is the same result as with the Bencini blade I was asking about in a recent thread to no avail. It's like trying to research someone or some thing that never existed!
I tried genealogy searches on both, but maybe need to keep up that avenue?
