    The set is post 1890, but I wasn't aware that Wade and Butcher sold "tourist" razors. I know that Soligen knife makers did.

    Definitely a worthless tourist set (which i collect). I'll double your money if you want to get rid of them.

    Other than the one broken scale, it looks like they just need a good clean and hone. Some 0000 steel wool and mother’s polsih and you are good to go.

    Will the mothers remove the surface rust stains? Or do you do something additional?

    One scale is broken at the pin (Monday) and another (Wednesday) has a broken pin with complete scales. The scales are celluloid, I believe.

    The combined power of mothers and 0000 steel wool when used with elbow grease is capable of very deep cleaning. It has the power to remove oxidized steel but not enough to remove healthy steel. It will remove deep black marks too, but that requires additional elbow grease. It will not however rebuild your broken scale.
