    Of course. I mostly linked because he had pictures of plated blades, and I wasn't sure I'd have time to snap pics of mine. I can't comment on his opinions about how they shave as I've never tried to shave with mine, but I thought it was at least worth consideration.

    Funny you should say that.... appears to be exactly the issue with at least one of my plated razors.

    Here's a Claus razor where the plating is flaking at the shoulder worn away completely at the edge:

    My other plated Claus blade is in much better condition. But you can still see the plating blistering up toward the spine, and a small flap appears to be peeling on the stabilizer:

    Neither of these blades is on an advertising razor. One is fitted with chased aluminum scales, and the other is fitted with carved bone scales. I've seen identical examples of both, so it seems highly likely the razors are all-original.

    I've seen a few plated blades over the years but overall they are rare birds indeed.
