Congrats on the steal. Look at your razor, and look at THIS razor. The difference is about $100 for some coloring. How about you send yours to me and I'll go to work on it with my Crayola markers. I'll only charge you $50

I just received my razor and I was both happy and sad at the same time. It turns out that the scales are of 2 different color tones, also the the stain turned out to be a very deep burn that I cant sand out. Both of these things weren't mentioned by the seller . Anyway, what would be a good way to clean the scales, does toothpaste work?
I also found a small "chip" in the blade right underneath the "G" in "hollow ground". How can I get this out, soon I will have the norton waterstone 4000/8000. Also, there seems to be some rust/tarnish on the blade that I cant get out with steel wool, what grit of sand paper can I use?
Here are some pictures also;

I forgot to ask... Do you guys think that 80$ was bad deal in light of these new details?
Thanks

Also, I tried removing the tarnish/ pitting with steel wool, but that left very fine scratches, how can I get rid of these if I dont have a mechanical buffer?
Thanks
