Victor aka bluesman was looking to make a pattern welded razor with old broken blades. Give him a PM and see if that is still on the list of things to do in Feb.

    Pattern welded razor?
First thing that came to mind was using the spine and tang to make a frameback.
    What's a pattern welded razor?

EDIT: just looked it up, I think I got it but curious to see what he intends.

Most of what is being sold as Damascus steel these days is actually pattern welded steel. The true Damascus is a Wootz crucible steel from the Middle East. So he intends to flatten a bunch of old razors, stack them together and forge weld them and then hammer them into a billet and make razors from them. He won’t be the first but it should be a fun project all the same.

I dont remember who, but the last guy tried with old rusty blades. It was close but the weld didnt take well. Some nice shiny steal would be the way to do it.

Took a second and third look at those. Damn its a shame. A can see a shorty or two but i have a coupe already to do and really dont need one as i got one. Save one for yorself to make a shorty out of and see if Vic wants them.

Well I've got others that I saved for myself. Got them in a lot a while back. I'll see if he wants them.
I'm surprised Tom didn't chime in, he is quite skilled with ...soris, a Herdersori 49 would be pretty cool.. ehem!
Could be part of a two day Herder 49 set...

Also I've got a W&B Celebrated big blade chopper that has a big chip out of the tip that I need to work on, gonna be a supreme shorty!
Also I have enough broken Herders put to the side to make a Herder shorty 7day set! Lol

I'm gonna have to go for the largest shorty collection. Yep, that will be my claim to fame!

Why not. You will have to only shorty 7-day set. Could be a fun project. Tom could always use them for chimes.

Now Jerry, easy does it there... if you're gonna be a member of BOBB, then you can't consider wind chimes a mission success... as clearly stated in the mission statement outlined in the handbook.

Well shoot, I'm gonna have to think of a clever way to get people interested.
I think I'll make a raffle. Qualification will be working on a broken blade and sending it to a buddy for SOTD.
    Muahahahahahahah!!!
The Broken Blade Raffle! With enticing prizes that even Tom can't refuse!
    To be continued....
