Bringing the 12/8 for my barber to see today...
I promised my barber I would eventually bring the 12/8s as soon as I could find something suitable to transport it in, and today is the day. I wont be letting him shave me with it though...I only trust me to do that lol. Here are a few photos since people have been asking for pics, unfortunately I seem to have lost the photos that Bill took when he was making it, and his photos were MUCH better than mine. BTW, any streaking arent scratches, its just oil residue!
The first photo is the 12/8 next to an 8/8 henkels friodur (it is the smallest razor I own).

Quite impressive. I how easy is it to shave with or is it just a show piece?

Very easy to shave with, you just put it on your face and the weight of the blade just plows through any facial hair that may be in its way. I have grown a goatie in recent months and I have no problem maneuvering around it.
Of course on the flip side...there is no such thing as a nick when you are using a blade this heavy....

Josh - what sort of grind is it? The bevel on the top picture makes me think its not a full hollow - or did Bill go for a lower shoulder width ratio?
She's a beauty! Bill does wonderful work - you should take your camera and post a picture of your barber's gob-smacked face when he first sees it

Well, my barber's jaw dropped and begged me enough that I let him shave me with it lol....it was a great shave! The grind is pretty unique in and sort of tapers a bit, I dont know what I would call it to tell you the truth it starts out as a wedge and hollows a bit towards the center.
