Thanked: 0I ordered 2 on the 8/12 auction.
I sent an e-mail to Stamps222 on 8/24 and this is the response:
Hi,
sorry, items were not shipped yet.
I apologize but one of the shipments from the source is late or got lost.
Please be patient. It might take about 2 weeks ....
I'll refund your money in full upon request.
Regards,
Marek.

Les

In defense of Marek I know only too well the joys of acting as an agent for an overseas supplier <g>.
Even though everyone is acting with the best intentions things get delayed or lost, or not sent exactly when promised from the parent country. It's always best to never sell anything not actually in one's hands, or in my case at least not already on the bench being assembled.

Thanked: 0I'm still waiting for two razors from Marek from the 8.12 sale. I bought three from Wojtek on a sale ending 8.16 and they made it from Krakow to Moab, UT by 8.24. . . not bad.
I've been away and just emailed Marek today. I'm not all that concerned at this point.
Regards

Thanked: 4942I am noticing a difference in the newer Wapi's vs. the old. I think I like the old ones with the stamp better. Someone tell me it's just me.
Thanks,
Lynn

Thanked: 0Gentlemen,
I honed up my first Wapi from Wojtec's latest batch yesterday and shaved with it this morning.
It wasn't as easy to hone as some others have reported. With my limited experience it took time and tenacity. I've actually honed ebay razors with less time and effort.
The factory bevel was very clean although very narrow. After honing, the bevel is less uniform possibly indicating a blade that isn't perfectly flat.
I think I've read most of the Wapi posts and it seems like there were variations in production and maybe materials from time to time. I read one post that said the scales were carbon steel. It was from a 'senior' member so I don't doubt it was true about his razor. The scales on this batch are stainless, or at least some non-ferrous metal (as determined by a fridge magnet).
The first Wapi's apparently had no marking and were reportedly easy to hone up. Later the logo appeared and some said they were a little more difficult. Then, the logo razors seemed to be the standard and were getting rave reviews. Now this batch is getting minor negative feedback.
The no logo, no jimps, stainless scale Wapi I shaved with this morning provided a very decent shave, although it took time and tenacity for someone who's still in the lower portion of the honing learning curve to get ready.
I liked the way it felt in my hand and on my skin. I liked it better than razors I own whose value are equal to many Wapis. It may be that I just like the feel of a heavier razor.
So, I'll work with the edge and see what happens. I'm pretty sure it has quite a bit of room for improvement. Also, I've got a couple logo Wapis coming from Marek to compare these to.
As always, YMMV
