Wapi's under new management
Seems like some stamp collector has bought out all of Wojtec's supply of 5/8 SFK Wapienicas. He's listing 45 in stock on ebay for $16 a piece (about a $4 price hike since last time I checked Wojtec's listings). The upshot is that the shipping is down from $8 to $4, so as long as you aren't buying more than 2, you aren't paying much more.
Wojtec still sells the 9/16ths, and also some combination items (strops + hones + razors) with the 5/8 listed. I dunno if he'll list any new ones, but there are none being offered from him anymore currently.

Thanked: 1Hmm now he's got 62 available. I wonder if Wojtec will put more up on his eBay store.
In fact, I'm really curious about that, because this other guy in Michigan isn't selling them at $16, it's an auction at $16, like whatever they call it, Dutch Auction.
Price could rise if that's the case, and not nearly as handy as just buy-it-now is.
Nice spot Fred! I only wish it wasn't news that made me want to kill stamp collectors, as I've not been able to take part in the Wapienica fury yet, haha.
Edit: There's even a link to SRP on the sale info now, makes you wonder.Last edited by bgertz; 08-05-2007 at 01:42 PM.

Glad I got my last batch before they all got snatched up by this "work from home in your pajamas" seller. Too bad, as Wojtec was very easy to deal with, shipped quickly and offered a great razor at a very good price. In the last batch, he even sent me one in an "authentic" Wapienica box for one of the razors (a nice little plastic case with some Polish documentation included.) I'm guessing that it was a nice gesture for a repeat customer.
I think I bought 11 in all, ten 5/8s (seven with stamped logo) and one 4/8. I'm planning on rescaling them all, keeping 7 or 8 for my own "set" and giving the others away.
Depending upon how my rescaling attempts come out, I was considering the thought of buying even more, but that may not be as simple an option anymore.
I'll chalk it up to just another guy trying to make a quick buck, ain't America great?!?

i asked Woj in a PM if he had any 6/8th wapi's due to that being my preferred size. he PM'd me back just yesterday that he did not have any in that size however he was expecting a shipment of a different brand of razor from japan real soon in vary'n sizes.
wonder what the new razors he's gonna have will be. keep an eye out on his stuff for when he recieves them.

Woj, are these the same as the ones in your ebay store? Is the current stock in your store the SFK-stamped Wapis?

I have the request to you, don't buy on ebay only directly at me or at the user "stamps222"

Thanked: 4I loved the original 5/8. I haven't got the SFK versions dialed in yet. Just as well, though, I am glad to have what I have. Thanks Woj!
