    Yes, Flitz, Maas, and mothers, are good metal polishes.
    But if your looking for a deep clean, you can go with 3M metal restorer/polish.

    Should be all it needs, with a honing.

    It so happened I had some Mothers Mag polish lying around and gave it whirl with some Q tips. What a nice job it did and I will post pictures when next I am home. It's not perfect (yet) but it helped me greatly to understand the difference between the restoration of Straights and DE's. I believe there is a little more wiggle room for elbow grease on these straight blades in comparison to the doubles and I like that. Always room to grow and a bigger learning curve with these but a greater margin for small goof ups.

    Very excited to be on this page and look forward to many more conversations on what looks to be an old world trade/craft that most have forgotten. I can't thank all of you enough for your support and help with this little question and can only imagine where it will go from here.

    My thermostat is telling me it's -14 Deg. right now so to everyone keep warm and always remember when talking to an idiot "if it weren't for them I would be average". Thanks again.
