Default This was a first for me... PADDED Scales?

Came across a razor with PADDED scales. Never even knew those existed! Was lining scales with padding some type of short lived fad or what? Who all did it?
I'll get some pictures after I delete some from my phone!

I remember something about a razor that had something on the inside you could put oil on to keep it lasting longer. I just dont remember the name. Or maybe it was to clean, sterilize? I just got up and havent had my first cup of joe so my brain aint working just yet.

Sharptonn beat me to it. Felt pad razor works. The felt was oil impregnated so when you closed the razor. The edge would get coated. Thus preventing oxidation. I have one but the felt is not all there. Good razor. Nothing fancy solid razor. My $.02 Ken

The collective memory of SRP constantly amazes me. Felt pad razor - who knew?

Felt is intact. Blade is clean.
Tip of scale broke off (luckily it was in box though) so that needs repairing.

    I'll get pics up eventually.
