Thanked: 98Through the week I tend to be busy. I do what I call maintenance shaves of two passes with my straight of the day. Each week I set up a seven day set for the week. My 5 first razors are ones I enjoy and good 2 pass shaves with. The last two in the set are something more special and I do a full 4 pass with those. I keep a DE of the week on hand for the outlying day I need extra time. But, my favorite weeks are when I pull my pieces together Koratt 7 day set. I have 6 Koratts in that group and the 7th is a Gillette toggle. Don't know if that explains my rotation or not. I also use a two cream pair each week and only one AS during the week.

I don't usually shave every day anymore, unless there's a special occasion,
or a trip to the dentist, or something like that.
If it's just me bummin' around, every 2-3 days is acceptable. As a general rule,
I shave less often in the winter and more often in the summer.
Most shaves are "2 lather" deals: #1 is a W/X/A combo. Rinse, then #2 lather is
a full ATG touch-up.
Then it's witch hazel, followed by something lightly scented.
It's good to strive for BBS, but it doesn't seem like it's always achievable.
And that's OK."If you come up to it, and you just can't do it, then that's jolly well where you are."

Usually shave everyday unless I'm going from days to nights then I wait an extra half a day in between shaves. I get BBS on most of my face, however there are some parts where my facial hair is super coarse and grows really flat so I usually call it good enough and leave it. My worst SR shaves are light years better than my best cartridge shaves, so it's a win regardless. Plus the products I use have had a huge impact on the look and feel of my skin.

Thanked: 8Usually shave every other day unless I'm honing some blades and need to test them. I do two passes but use a fresh razor for each pass, strop two and figure I have a fresh edge. Plus it gets me through my rotation quicker. Noxema pre-shave rinse with warm water, Taylor of Old Bond St. cream, followed by Nivea post shave. Being a perfectionist but prone to skin irritation I try to strike an balance on how close of a shave I can get. Or as a wise man once said "Good enough for who its for" -Roadkill Garage

I shave every day, so a one pass shave is usually enough for me to look respectable. I will do two passes if I've missed a day or more.

Thanked: 81I try and shave Monday, Wednesday and Friday, but it changes if I have a show or special occasion. These are the days that normally allow me enough time for a SR shave. If I’m pressed for time I use a DE.
I usually do a 3 pass shave, and as long as the razor is well honed I get BBS without irritation. If I do get irritation it’s always in the same spot, a swirl on my neck that’s impossible to get smooth.
Lately I’ve been practicing honing more, so have been shave testing a lot, but I obviously have more to learn because I’ve been getting a lot of irritation.
If I’m doing a quick DE shave I usually just do 2 passes, enough for something passable. I kind of lost my DE chops after shaving exclusively with SRs for two years, so if I do more than 2 passes I’m guaranteed to have irritation. And because I’m always rushed if I’m using a DE, I haven’t gotten back into a good shaving habit with it.

For me it's every single day with only the occasional exception if I sleep late and I'm in down mode for the entire day. I normally use a different straight razor everyday unless I'm in a real hurry in which case I use my DE for speed. Not sure if it counts as more than one pass or not but I usually concentrate on the chin area with several strokes WTG and then across but almost never against. I work (largely) outside in Florida and the burn and then ensuing rash is too much if I go ATG. I only lather once but run wet fingers across my face to check spots that need cleanup so I would call that one pass but It's definitely not only one stroke across each spot.
