Thanked: 135I usually shave every other day and do three passes. A three pass shave gets me as close to BBS as I can get. Without an ATG pass its a DFS for me. I don't think you can get BBS without an ATG pass.

Thanked: 38I usually shave Monday, Wednesday, Friday mornings. Two pass and some clean up under the jaw line. First pass gives a socially acceptable shave. Second pass is for fun and the CCS. I've never done a fool's pass, so never had a BBS. The DFSs are rare.

Thanked: 133Lately with how busy I have been with work, I have just been shaving once a week so I will do 3 pass shave. Usually no irritation and I would say always a DFS. When I shaved every other day or so I just did a 2 pass shave and I would say it was between DFS and CCS. The shaves were always better than a cartridge razor though so I didn't really care. Will also add in whenever I was shaving every other day or so my coticule edge was my go to. Very forgiving and smooth shaves from the coticule made every day shaving easy.

Every single day of the week! 7 out of 7 days! Rarely do I miss a day. Maybe once every two months I miss a day.
Usually 1 multi directional ATG pass with Touch ups for BBS.
Sometimes 3 passes (WTG, XTG, ATG) for BBS.
Once in a great while, I am in a hurry and do just the 1 multi directional ATG and skip the touch up pass and am fine with DFS.
I have to remember I rarely got a DFS when I was using a cartridge razor. It was often a pretty crappy shave. Even still, my goal most mornings is a BBS.What a curse be a dull razor; what a prideful comfort a sharp one

Thanked: 171I shave every morning with a straight that I got ready beforehand.
I look forward to it as it gives me some time to get started and reflect on the day ahead.
Two passes plus one touch-up is enough for a BBS shave.
After the shave I dry the razor and then give it a few laps on the linen and leather side of my strop. Usually it will be a while before I use the same razor again, so I tend to oil them later, after I get home from work.
The entire operation does not take more than 20-25 minutes, if time is of the essence I use a safety razor and reduce the time by half.
